The day that is generally chosen for a wedding is Monday. Saturday is supposed to be unlucky.
Matches are made and money and stock and goods are given as a "fortune".
On the wedding day the pair to be married and the two witnesses all go together to the Church.
When the ceremony is over the wedding party goes to the bride's house for breakfast. This being over and about two hours spent the newly wed couple and the two who attended at the marriage, go away for the day to a big town or the seaside generally.
