In Cloonclare graveyard there is an image of a face traced out on a stone and it is said that it is the face of the wife of the Governor of Connaught- Lady Bingham. There is a large stone in out school and there is a rough image of a head traced upon it. It is said to have been found in the foundation of our school when it was been built. Long ago there was a small building in Clonnclare graveyard. In this building there were monks living. One of the monks died and his brother buried him in the building. Ten one of the Monks carved out a rough image of his head on a stone. That stone can be seen to day and the people say if you move the stone out of its place it will go back again. Opposite the Post Office stands a headstone of Phil Jilgunn who was shot in year 1922.
