Ar an leathanach seo

    months when they are sucking their young. They are usually called by a peculiar name like "teamh" meaning "seo cugam". It is very shy and harmless and sometimes dogs to great havoc amongst them as they have no weapon of defence.
    The pig is produced for it's flesh which is called pork when fresh. It can be made into bacon by curing it with salt. It is usually fed on potatoes, indian meal, bran, pollard, etc. When calling the pig in this locality a word is used which sounds like "furais" meaning "tar isteach".
    The ass is the weakest beast of burden on the farm. It is used to draw small loads especially on soft bogs where a horse could not easily travel. He is fed hay and sometimes oats. He is usually housed in Winter. He is called by a work like "Pehegh", meaning "go leir". The jennet is a cross bred animal between the horse and the ass, the dam.
