Potato cake was made with potatoes, flour, and salt. The potatoes are blended and mixed with flour and salt. Eneough of bread was baked for three or four days at a time. There is a cross cut on the cake. This is done to keep the crust from rising too high. The bread was baked on a griddle or sometimes in an oven.
