    Long ago, the people thought it wrong to leave the water which washed feet in the house. As soon as the water was used, it was thrown out, for it was believed that the fairies would come into the house if this were not done.
    About a hundred years go, there were three tanning factories in Ballinasloe, and there was one in Northbrook, about a mile from Kilconnell. The ruins are in the
