The witches kept coming until at last twelve women had come in, the first with one horn and the last witch with twelve.
They continued their work in silence and then one of them said to the mistress, ``Arise, and make us a cake.`` The mistress got up but she could find no vessel. They told her to get a sieve and bring water from the well. She did so but the water leaked through it. Then a voice called to her saying ``Plaster the bottom with clay and you will suceed``.
She then bought home the water but when she came back the witches were gone.
