  2. Johnny Davis who lives in Santry was the best cross-country runner himself and also Pat White.
    Pat White offered to run from Dublin to Belfast in five hours for one hundred pounds offered by the "Herald Newspaper" in the year 1878.
    He started at twelve o'clock on Sunday night and when was twenty miles outside Belfast.
