  1. There was a fairy around this house once. There was a shoe maker and his wife living in the house and they had a small child and it never grew big.
One day the fairy came and took their child and left a fairy child in the bed and it was always crying. The people took great care of the child. One day the woman went away, and the child stopped crying and said to the shoe-maker "Take down that pipe and I'll play you a tune." They played until the woman was coming back, and the minute the woman entered the door the child began to cry again. And the shoe-maker said "Give me the griddle and I'll put this child on it."
After a while the fairy child told the man where the gold was and he went up the chimney and their own child was in the bed when they looked again.
