- (continued from previous page)a boat which they had along the shore. His two companions reached the shore, got into the boat, and set off for Ireland. When St. Bodin reached the top of a cliff he called to his friends who were then well out to sea. One of them "a great and holy man told St. Bodin to stand on the edge of the cliff and fear not. St. Bodin stood upright on the edge of the cliff, and as his enemies were drawing near, the part on which he was standing - a piece of dark rock about five feet long and shaped like a boat - dropped into the sea, and moved in the direction of his companions who were in their own boat.Now St. Bodin got great courage, and in a short time passed their boat, and reached Culdaff Bay long before his friends got a glimpse of Ireland. It is said that St. Bodin tied his boat to a hole which is still pointed out in the rock on the "Unne" bank neck Culdaff. His steps, where he walked into and out of the boat, are still on the bank of the river, as well as the tracks of his knees where this holy man prayed.
