  1. Once upon a time there lived in this parish of Culdaff a man named ODoherty.
    One day he had to go to Derry for a pair of boots. In those times there were no conveyances for the people so he had to walk. On his way to Derry he went through a wood, but when night fell he could not find his way out again. He wandered about all night but it was of no avail.
    At last he saw a little light in the distance and he went towards it. When he reached the
