    their approval of what they had done, by presenting them through their Deputy Vice Admiral with a well equipped boat, March, 30th, 1844.
    About the year 1915 as there was a great demand for flax, the farmers in Moville District began to grow this crop.
    The old scutch mill was again started and scutching was soon in full swing. Two young children one evening when the workmen had gone home, collected some "tow" and put a lighted match to it. It was soon ablaze, the flames caught the mill as there was a considerable breeze at the time soon the whole mill was in flames.
    People gathered but they used their energy in saving some flax stacks as they knew the mill was doomed. It soon burnt itself out.
