4 catsWe have got names on some of our cows. These names are Daisy, Violet, Paney, Snowdrop and Polly.
When driving the cows in or out of a field I say chay! chay!
When driving the calves in our of a field I say prougey! prougey!
We call the cow-house the byre.
The byre is a stone building with a cement path up the centre with double stands to each side. There are wooden stakes in each stand and each cow is tied by the neck. Long-ago cows were tied by the horns, neck or legs, but no one that I know does it now.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
