He was succeeded by Rev. H. P. Charlton, now a D. D., and a distinguished author, and minister of the Parish Church of Stranraer, who on his resignation to go to Scotland in 1875, was followed by Rev. W. Clarke, B. A. who afterwards became moderator of the General Assembly.
The succeeding ministers of the Congregation were Rev. R. W. Hamilton, M. A. now of Lisburn and the present minister.
During Mr. Charlton's ministry, a substandard Manse was built; and 11 years ago the present Church, which took the place of the old "T" shaped building was opened free of debt, and has been found commodious and comfortable.
