    The people were digging potatoes from morning to night and they would hardly have one bucketful. The poor who went from house to house begging they had their own spun and they asked to get scrapping the pots to keep them alive and it effected the district very much. There were great lot of people in the district at that time. The people in our own district can point out places that were in ruins. Lots of them is still there yet and others are swept away. The potatoes decayed in the ground. The people were found dead along the roads.
