are fifty-two people in it. Connaghan is the name most common in it. The houses are all slated only three. The townland got its name from The Rath of the O'Donnell's and the rath is still to be seen at Rathdonnell house. There is a woman over ninety living in this townland and she knows Irish. Her name and address are:- Mrs. Ellen McGonigle, Rathdonnell, Trenta, Co. Donegal.
There used to be more houses in this district. There are three houses in ruins, from two of which their owners emigrated to America, and the people of the other all died. Some of this district is hilly but most of it is boggy. There is one fairly large wood in it. The name of it is "The Rathdonnell Planting". There is one river called the Lennon and which is the boundary between Rathdonnell and some of the other townlands around.
