- There are a great many wild birds in the district and some of them which may be mentioned are : the robin, the lark, the blackbird, the thrush, the wren, the swallow, the gold-finch, the Tom-tit and the cuckoo.
The birds that migrate are the the cuckoo and the swallow. The cuckoo goes away in the winter and comes back in the summer, as the poet says:
In April
Come he will
In May
He sings all day
In June
He alters his tune
In July
He prepares to fly
In August

A robin builds its nest in a ditch and it builds it with hair, feathers and grass. It lays about six eggs and the colour of them is white colour with red spots on them. It sits about two or three weeks on the eggs.
