- Saint Movee. Once upon a time there was a mound in a field near Skerries. One day there was a man ploughing the field and he was told not to plough the mound because Saint Movi lived in it. He said "Saint Movi or Saint Movo I'll plough this sod before I go". Then the ground opened and swallowed him and his horses immediately. This place is still to be seen. Long ago there was an old woman called Peggy Murphy who lived in a little house on the hills of Knockbrack near Baldara. She minded sheep for McDermots of Kitchenstown. Every evening she counted the sheep at half-past five o'clock. This old woman knew the time when the fairies would be crossing the hills and she always counted them early in the evening. If she did not count them at half-past five she would wait until seven o'clock, for it was about six o'clock that they would cross the hills.
