    a friend of his in another part of Ireland. However one night the people, most of whom were soldiers set out to capture his father. They found him crossing the river with a bundle of sticks on his back and they took him prisoner. When they asked him about the wine he told them to go and kill Gobbin and that then he would tell them how the wine was made. They got Gobbin killed him and brought him to his father, who when he saw him said that they might kill him too and that they would never know how to make the wine. Since that time the place is called Kilgobbin because it is said that it was the place where the Irish were told by his father to kill Gobbin.
