- There are three tailors in the parish now. One is Pat Scott the other is Peter Langan and the other is Padney O Boyle. They make some suits of clothes. They use thimbles needles, and smoothing irons for pressing the clothes. There were ten tailors long ago. Long ago they used to wear sleeve vests and some of the young men too. There are two spinning wheels in the village now. No tailor goes round from house to house as they long ago only Padney O Boyle. The people used to say this to the tailors.
"The tailor the weaver the cat
Them are three [?] monkeys that never get fat.
They women make thread for stockings out of wool. (How they used to) The spinning wheel would be placed on the floor and a woman begins to make rolls of the wool. There is a (spinning) spindle attached to the wheel(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
