    of February, they are of great annoyance to the farmers because when new potatoes start to grow, they root up the soil in order to get the worms, they are also very fond of hen and duck eggs. Whenever a crow sees a man with a gun if she think he is going to shoot rabbits, she goes at once to where the rabbits are playing, and warns them that they are in danger. If fine weather is coming the crows get to-gether on a wall, if bad weather is coming they gather to-gether in a field.
    The magpie builds her nest in the centre of a black-thorn bush, if anybody went to harm her nest, she would bring chickens or young ducks away, and kill them.
