    Long ago the people used to make a dye of heather, first of all by boiling the heather and the juice of it would colour clothes.

    Shops were not common in our village in olden times. There were a few small shops called huckster shops, they were called huckster shops because they only sold small items such as clay pipes, hairpins and lids of pipes.
