    The Famine 7.12 .1937
    About seventy years ago there was a scarcity of food .A man had a lot of children and seeing they were hungry he went to a neighbours garden and got a large turnip and cut it for the children.he was unable to eat it himself and he went out and died by a ditch his name was White he lived near Ballinahown. A man had a garden if turnips and he said every one to take one turnip and if anyone took took more he would kill them .The English did this to starve the Irish.
