  1. It is the custom of the Irish people not to meddle with forts or old graveyards or anything in them. This practice proved to be wise by an unusual happening which took place in the townland of Laharden.
    In Laharden there is a holy well called after Saint Mochulla and around this well, there is a graveyard. On one of the trees around the well a swarm of bees lodged once. This swarm gave a lot of honey to anyone who would put a bucket under the tree during the night. There was a man who was very greedy and wish to have all the honey, living near it. He set to work to smoke the bees out. He succeeded in doing this but woe to him! A short time after that one of his
