  1. Many years ago a man lived in a village in Co. Clare. He was born with a hump and could not get it cured. One night he went astray on his way home from a fair. He came to a lonly glen where he fell asleep. During the night wakened by fairies who sang Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. The man added Thursday to their song. They were delighted, and to his great surprise they lifted the hump off his back.
    In the same village another man with a hump lived. He heard about his neighbour and said he would try the same plan. He reached the same glen and met the fairies but insted instead of one he added the names of two week-days. The fairies became very angry. They all attacked him and instead of having his hump lifted off the unfortunate
