  1. Have you heard of Duffy's circus
Which has formed up of late
He is telling all the farmers
Not to pay their rate (that's due)
    But to support home industry
And wear a shirt of blue
Why Duffy wears a blue shirt
It is well known to all
He did not like the shirt he got
    From De Valera's Dail.
So the farmers joined the circus
To see what they could do
And collect up all the clowns they could
To wear a shirt of blue
Some of them had to join it
    Like the boys of Kinnagall
For before they got the blue shirt
They hadn't a shirt at all
    The scratching now is over
And the fleas I'm told are flew
They would rather perish in the ground
    Then rest in Duffy's blue
But the farmers want the old times back
