All children lie down and pretend to be asleep. Then another comes and calls them. She stops until they are getting up. When she comes back they are all lying sleeping as before. Then she beats them and makes them get up. They say that they are sick but it is no use.
Some two go away [?] plan an apple or an orange, each taking one or other of these fruits. All then came along singing. Dan, Dan. thread to needle Dan, sew, let every man pan but the last man go. The last person is kept and asked which if the two fruits she likes best, Which ever she says, she lines up behind the apple or the orange. When all have chosen, they all pull against each other and the fruit which wins is regarded as the most popular.
