  2. Long ago most of the bread was made from oat meal and potatoes.
    The potatoes and oats were grown in the district There were grinding stones in the district. The ingredians used for the potatoe bread was potatoes and flour and for the boxty cake were potatoes grated and flour and for the oat meal, oat meal salt and water. Bread was baked every day. The name given to the vessel in which bread was baked was an oven. Bread was baked before the fire and the support was called a gridiron.
