While the potatoes are growing they are moulded and sprayed, moulded and sprayed again. In Autumn the potatoes are dug. The farmers pick the potatoes from the earth. The potatoes are stored in pits and the pits are long shaped they are covered with rushes first and then covered with clay. the local names given to potatoes are Kerr's Pinks, Irish Queens, Aran Victors, Aran Banners, Epicures and Champions.
