1. If you meet a funeral on the road you should turn about and accompany it for a little way.
2. Unlucky to count the number of cars or horsemen in a funeral.
3. The people of one family in Doonaha eat meat if there is a death in their house or if they are going to a wake lest the fairies should bring them off.

4. Blessed earth put into coffin with corpse.
5. If you go on a funeral you should not on your way home call in at a neighbours’ house to buy or sell or transact business. This is unlucky for the neighbour.
6. If a Christmas Candle should gutter and drop a long streamer of wax down its side, this is a sign of a death in the house.(continues on next page)
