Mrs. Naughton of Kilkee who was reared in Kilbaha district and heard most of the tales about Soupers (which were told almost every night at the fireside) never heard the one about spitting on the picture of the B.V.M. (which is contained in the C.T.S. handbook "The Ark") and says that it is baseless.
