N.B. There is no account of tithes having ever been collected.
N.B.The Westby who was a fairly good landlord was a son of the old man of the 1852 Ark period. Mrs. Naughton of Kilkee who was reared in Kilbaha district and heard most of the tales about Soupers (which were told almost every night at the fireside) never heard the one about spitting on the picture of the B.V.M. (which is contained in the C.T.S. handbook "The Ark") and says that it is baseless.
