  1. Strong men,
    Michael Mac Mahon, of Kilkerrin was a strong man. One day when coming from the bog with a load of turf the wheel of the car came out, and with one hand he put in the wheel with the other.
    Good Walker's.
    Patrick Hallinan- Mount Shannon was a great walker. It is said the walked to Limerick and back again in one day a distance of 80 miles. He also walked to Milltown to hear Parnell speak and back the same day a distance of 44 miles.
    Good Runners,
    Michael Bermingham of Lackyle was a noted athlete. He was a good runner and jumper He emigrated to America about 40 years
