This basket is made from sally sticks all woven together, and having two handles. My father and the workmen pick the potatoes from the earth, into the basket. The bad potatoes are put in another pit. The pits when full are covered with clay, and rushes are placed on top.The potatoes most commonly grown in this locality are "British Queens" "Epicures" and "Sherry Champions", "Sherry Champions" grow better on our farm than any other kind.
