  1. The Shops Common In Olden Times
In olden times there were very few local shops. People used have to go to the nearest town for their goods.
The huxter shop - keepers used sell some of their goods after Mass. When poor people were buying some goods they used work for a certain length of time to pay for the goods they were getting.
It is not known what words were used but it is considered lucky to work for the goods instead of paying for them.
