  1. In olden times people did not wear boots until they were about ten year's. Long ago the old people did not wear boots, unless when they would be gong to Mass or to the town. At present the children go barefooted in the Summer when the weather is warm. Boots are not made in this district. Boots are repaired locally. There are no shoe-makers in this district. Clog's were not made in this district. Clogs with wooden soles are worn nowadays. Leather was not made in this district.
