  1. Once upon a time there were people known as the Goodpeople. There was a man whose hobby it was to go out in the evenings setting snares to catch rabbits. He used to gather up the snares early in the morning. One moonlight night there was a fall of snow. The man awakened before midnight on that night, & seeing that it was so bright he thought it was morning. He rushed out of bed as he thought somebody might steal his snares. He went to lift them & in doing so he heard footsteps coming towards him.
He looked around and what should he see but four small men carrying a coffin and a large crowd of mourners following behind crying and lamenting. They marched past him, and finally disappeared into a nearby lake. On seeing this the poacher rushed home only to discover that it was but a little after midnight.
Shortly afterwards he took ill and died.
