  1. Shrove tuesday or pancake Tuesday as it is sometimes called falls on the day before Lent or Ash Wednesday. Its date varies but it is always in February or March.
    On that night people have pancakes (on that) for supper. Usually charms are put in the pancakes.
    A lot of weddings take place on that day, as people do not get married during Lent.
