- Fairs are held mostly in towns and villages nowadays.
Seldom business is carried on at the houses. Often before the fair day buyers often go to the houses to see cattle or pigs which are for sale.
There is no account of fairs being held on hills in this part.
The town fair is held on the green and in the streets.
Tolls are not paid on cattle.
When an animal is sold luck money is given, this varies according to the price of the beast. Sometimes no luck money is paid if the money is clear to pocket.
After the man has been paid he spits on the money for luck, they strike hands during the making of the bargain.
Animals are marked by clipping the hair or rubbing a piece of mud on its back or raddel.
