“A man called Pat Chambers once lived in Dromelihy.”
A man called Pat Chambers once lived in Dromelihy. He had two cows and one of them calved. The calf wouldn't stand and he had him in the kitchen for treatment. One night he stayed up to mind him and at midnight the calf stood up and walked to the fire and warmed one of his sides, then he turned and warmed the other side. Then he went back and lied down and died.
A few days after the cow died. Six men were doping her inside the house and she went out through a small window and died outside.

In the time of the famine a poor man came in to Mrs Tubridy in Dromelihy. She had a barley cake on the fire baking. At that time they used to divide the cake into quarters. So she gave him a pigin of milk and a quarter of bread. A pigin was a big timber cup(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile) - Faisnéiseoir
