  1. Some of the names of the names of the fields at home are the flax field, Ralphs garden, the well field, Brick field, Sheep's field, Crab field, Sand bottom, Black bottom.
    Crab field got its name because crab apple bushes grow in that field. The Flax field got its name because flax used to be grown in it. Brick field got its name because bricks used be made there . Ralphs garden got its name because a man named Ralph Doherty owned it first.
    There is a rock in nulty's field of Pollakeel parish of Denn County Cavan and Fionn Mac Cumhail threw it from the top of Sliab glach mountain which is a distance of eleven or twelve fields.
    There is a smooth rock in Cotraseer rocks and there is the remains of a old stone altar there at which a priest used to say mass every morning during Penal times. Phil Brady Annaglough Co Cavan.
