  1. My home district is situated midway between the town of Cavan, and the village of Ballinagh It derives its name - Lisduff from an old fort in the neighbourhood.
    The houses seemed to be, more numerous in former days, as in many places old ruins remain of small homesteads. There are not many historic ruins around, with the exception of an old castle. This castle it is said belonged to O'Reilly.
    No lakes are in the district at present, but the remains of an old one is still to be seen, which has completely disappeared owing to drainage.
