  1. One night a few years ago my father was coming home from a wake. It was a dark night and it was very late. When he was passing a ratheen in Tigroney between Mr Kearns and our house. He saw something white sitting on the ditch. He went over to the ditch to see what it was. and when he went over. He saw a beautiful girl dressed in white with lovely golden hair and she was combing it with a steel comb. When he had just passed by her. she roared three times. He then recognised it was the Banshee. He got a terrible fright and he never passed that ratheen late at night again.
