- Long ago the people only had two meals a day. They used to work before they would get their breakfast. They got potatoes and porridge and buttermilk for breakfast. They used to put the tables up the side of the walls when they were finished.
They only got tea at Christmas when they got about two ounces.
The men were always fed up for the cutting of the corn. - People used to have potatoes and eggs or meat for dinner. The potatoes were strained through a bucket into a tub. Everybody sat round that to eat them.
