  1. There is a place connected with giants in Tinahely called the giant's trough. Once upon a time there was a giant on the Bell rock and he saw a black-bird where the Mottie is, and he took up the stone and fired it at the black bird. The name that was put on the stone was the Mottie.

  2. There is a Motty stone a good distance away from our house, and it was put there by a giant.
    There is a big round rock up in Glenmalure and the people say that it was put there by a giant, it is up on the top of a heap of stones and they call it the Giant's stone.
