  1. Tinkers come round in carts or caravans and go from town to town selling baskets and mats.
    Some of the names are - Murphy, Doran, Cash, Connors, Byrne.

  2. Tinkers come to the houses in twos and threes begging and trying to sell things made of tin, mats or lace. The travel in spring-drays or caravans and camp beside the roads. They usually come before a fair and the same families come every time. The steal things often.
