- One day as a man and his niece were going to milk a cow it was early in the day when four yeomen met them and seized them. The girl had a bucket in her hand and her father's hat on her head. The yeomen accused them as murderers because she had on a man's hat. But the captain knew the man's father and he begged the other yeomen to let them off. So they escaped and the yeomen went on out over Craanmore mountain.
There was a mass-path going from Cronaleigh to Ballypierce and one going from Kilbranish to Craanmore to a chapel on Mr. Murphy's land in Ballypierce.
