And then we'll see him face to face as we often did before
If we follow the examle that he left us in Clonmore.
One or more stanzas were got from-
John Lennon, Mrs. Kinsella, Ths. Donnelly, all from Clonmore district and from Fionan MacColum who collected three stanazas in Daingean (where the ballad is also known).
The last stanza as given by Mrs Kinsella commences 'On the 18th of December he breathed his last away' Oh! Keep him in your memory until the Judgement Day' etc.
Another stanza was given by Mrs Kinsella but no one else had it (doubtful if it should be included). It is as follows:
'The naked he clothed, the hungry he fed,
He relieved the poor orphans and he buried the dead
And those who were blind for years their sight he did restore
And the people came in multitudes in grieving for Clonmore'
No one knows who made the ballad.
