    Whooping cough (chincough)
    a) Pass the child under an ass and over its back three times, in the name of the Father & of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
    b) Put some bread into a donkey's mouth: take it out; put the child under the donkey & get him to eat the bread while under the donkey.
    c) Get a piece of home made bread from a Double Byrne & give it to the child to eat: A double Byrne is a Byrne married to a Byrne - the child of such parents.
    d) Same as (a) above but it must be a Black ass.
    e). Put St. Anthony's bread in an asse's mouth. Any crumbs that the ass drops from his mouth should be eaten by the child.
