    The houses long ago were made from stones and yellow clay instead of mortar. The windown were left very small so that no robber could get in. The chimneys were from scallops and yellow clay. They had a big iron bar behind the door and they would shove it across at night, and they used to shove it into a hole in the wall in morning.
