  1. St Cronan was patron saint of this parish.
    One time he was building a church in Kilmachunna and St Ruadan was building a church in Lorrha at the same time. St. Ruadan came over to St. Cronan for help but he could give him none so they disagreed.
    "St. Ruadan said to St. Cronan that the door of your church may ever lock and every morning that you get up may you have a corpse in it" Well if I have I hope it will be a bird, so every morning he got a dead
