  1. Long ago the people had three meals in the day. The breakfast the dinner and the supper. For the breakfast they had bread and butter and milk and sometimes porridge and milk. They had potatoes milk and butter for their dinner and they had their supper before going to bed which was oaten bread and seeds that was got from the mill. These seeds were boiled in milk and that drink is called flummery. Early in the morning the people used to get up and go out to the fields to work for about an hour or two before they would get their breakfast.
